Glorious Lodge My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 nights during our holidays. The lodge is set in beautiful surroundings with stunning views of the Zambezi river and within easy distance to the equally stunning Victoria Falls. Our room was a fair size and had everything you needed for our stay including an early morning visit from a troop of mischievous monkeys. The staff are lovely and the welcome music and gin and tonic is a really nice touch. The area is very clean and wee maintained. The food was good and the breakfast was more than sufficient for our needs. You must take a trip on the sunset cruise, it was marvellous with complimentary drinks and snacks, we were very lucky that when we did it there were only 26 people on board so had the luxury of moving from port to starboard with ease. See hippos, elephants and crocodiles in their natural environment tremendous. There two or three downsides to the complex; the pool area is small and when everyone returns from the excursions you need to get a wiggle on or you will not get near it; getting water after the room has been made is hit or miss, I think it depends on which made you get; and they do not supply basic laundry equipment such as an iron or board, you need to send your clothes to the laundry service to get ironed even if they are clean. However, these are really minor issues and I would highly recommend this lodge if you are looking to stay with the Livingston vicinity.

A lovely location, with lovely smiling staff and a great place to chill. Idyllic location on the banks of the Zambezi, this Lodge lives up to its reputation with well appointed rooms that have a colonial touch to them which fits perfectly with the surrounding vistas. Twin bedded with netting. Monkeys swing in the trees every morning from 6.30am, the river comes alive soon after with pleasure boats, the spray from Victoria Falls can be seen and makes its own micro-climate. The food served in the buffet style outdoor restaurant whether breakfast or dinner is wholesome and well presented. Drinks are reasonably priced with many cocktails available. TV in the bar shows mostly sport. Staff always are polite and cheerful. Local band plays in reception most days. There are hippos in the river, some crocs and many colourful birds. A pizzeria is just over the bridge as an alternative eating venue. River cruise on the Lady Livingstone is a pleasant trip with interesting commentary. Lots of free drink and some canopies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as it was a relaxing experience.

Monkeys on your porch. A great experience and we enjoyed our time there immensely. To be so close to nature, and the boat trip to see the Zambezi river was awesome. We took the local helicopter trip over Victoria falls which albeit a little on the expensive side is a must. Staff were fantastic and friendly and would recommend it to anyone.

A Very Enjoyable 3 Night Stay But Not Perfect We stayed 3 nights at the David Livingston Lodge as part of a package. The hotel has an ideal location overlooking the Zambezi River. Staff throughout the hotel are warm and friendly and the quality of food at both the buffet breakfast and dinner is tasty and plentiful. The only reason that I have not awarded 5 stars is because the room itself was rather tired and in need of upgrading. The hinges on one of the doors leading to the patio were broken making it difficult to open. We reported this to housekeeping on the first day but it was never fixed. Whilst food and drinks were priced in the local currency (Kwacha) the bill was presented in dollars. The exchange rate used favoured the hotel and not the guest.

Wonderful Staff - Great Location. We stayed for 5 nights in January-23 and had a great time. The two best things about this place are the very friendly and attentive staff, and the location itself right on the Zambezi River. One person in particular we must mention is Thomas in the Bar/Restaurant. Fabulous guy!Rooms and some parts of the lodge are getting a bit "tired" and could do with some TLC. Given the size of this operation, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food (we hade dinners mainly). These chefs know what they are doing. The breakfast buffet was very generous and far above average.
